 Today is part 2 of a post featuring me on Charlottesville Wedding Blog which shows the making of an engagement ring I designed and created in 2009 for a client. Created of 14k white gold, this ring uses a family diamond to pass on family tradition and sentimental value while updating it to represent the woman who will be wearing it in present times.

"In a worn summer dress and muddy high top sneakers, Grace walked alone through the weeds of a big open meadow - one that was sprinkled with strange metal and hard-edged, yet bright and cheery flowers. Some were tall and slender with amazing little cogs on top. Others were shorter and tougher with gears of spikes. Standing among these fascinating flowers, she ran her hand along the tops of them lightly scratching the palms of her hands."
