A Mother's Day Locket

Tavia, Posted May 26, 2010

One of the things I love about my job is designing and creating one-of-a-kind custom work for clients.  This past Mother's Day was filled with custom orders and I found myself involved with some really interesting projects.  I would like to take a moment and share with you the process of making one of these special items, a Mother's Day locket.  Made of Sterling Silver, family diamonds, and a little boy's hair, this is one extraordinary locket for one lucky Nana.

I truly enjoyed making this heirloom locket.  A highly involved, process heavy, wearable object honoring the love between a grandson and his Nana.  I am honored to have been the creator of such a magnificent piece!  I hope you enjoyed seeing the process!

Mommy and Me

Tavia, Posted April 11, 2010

I had a wonderful time making these matching Adoration Bracelets for a new mommy and her baby.  It was fun having the proud daddy help out as we designed these sterling silver and garnet lovelies for his lovelies.

The possibilities are many when desiging heirloom jewelry.  The sweet addition of baby's birthstone made these bracelets distinct.  And, the special message written by daddy and inscribed on the interior, made them extraordinary.

Charlottesville Weddings Blog

Today is part 2 of a post featuring me on Charlottesville Wedding Blog which shows the making of an engagement ring I designed and created in 2009 for a client.  Created of 14k white gold, this ring uses a family diamond to pass on family tradition and sentimental value while updating it to represent the woman who will be wearing it in present times.
